The wait for new patient appointments varies depending on the time of year and can be up to 2 - 3 months. It's important to Dr. Liou that access to care for existing patients be a priority. Once you become an established patient yourself, routine appointments should be quite a bit easier to schedule.

While waiting for your appointment find some helpful guidance from Dr. Liou's book Every Body's Guide to Everyday Pain

What to Expect:
The first visit includes a review of your clinical history, an initial exam and full treatment. This first visit will take two hours. Routine treatments take 45 min. to 1 hour each. These routine treatments include 15-20 min. of soft tissue work combined with applications of ice or moist heat as needed and interspersed with an array of joint adjustment (aka: "mobilization" and/or "manipulation") techniques depending on what is deemed as most appropriate for each body. Some of the adjusting, mobilization or manipulation techniques can be osseous (eliciting the familiar joint popping sound) and some are non-osseous (without any noticeable joint popping sound). Again, this depends on body type, preference and need.
