Pandemic-Inspired Protocols in the Office

<2022 UPDATE>

Mask requirements have softened according to the CDC but:

If you have traveled by airplane within 14 days of your visit to this office, you will be asked to wear an N95 or KN95 mask for the duration of your treatment.

This office hasn’t seen any illness since March 2020 and let’s keep it that way.

Temperatures continue to be taken with a non-contact thermometer and temperature of 100.4 degrees Farenheit or higher will be turned away.

What to do if you have had an exposure or tested positive:

Please refer to the latest CDC Guidelines as outlined here:

CDC GUIDELINES for QUARANTINE +/or ISOLATION

Should You Come In or Cancel?

  • If you wake up on the day of your appointment feeling uneasy or unwell in any way, please don’t hesitate to opt out and stay home.  Just let me know so I don’t worry about you.  There are no missed appointment / late cancellation fees during this unusual time. (NB: fees will still apply for missed appointments with no notice when not due to illness or virus-related precaution)
  • If you have had any contact with someone who has since become ill, or if you yourself have any upper or lower respiratory symptoms and / or: fatigue, loss of smell, body aches or lower than usual temperature, please stay home.
  •  If you are yourself in the vulnerable population (immune compromised or of otherwise fragile health and age), or if you have contact with a loved one or friend who is in the vulnerable population, please stay home.

Flu & Virus Season Guidelines:

  • If you encounter someone while arriving or leaving please give them physical distance and have your mask on.
  • When you arrive, I provide an ethyl-based hand sanitizer in each room for your use or simply wash your hands right away.
  •  Before touching doorknobs in and out of the treatment rooms – use the hand sanitizer or a tissue barrier.

Masks:

  • You’ll be asked to wear a mask as a courtesy to others – especially if you encounter someone between your car and the treatment room.
  • It’s appreciated when lying face-up on the treatment table if you return the mask to your face at certain points.

Physical Distancing:

  • Number of appointments available per day have been reduced to ensure best possible chances of physical distancing
  • Even if you’re wearing a mask please do your best to give other patients distance as you pass each other.
  • Once you arrive you’ll be asked to wait in the waiting room for me to take your temperature.

My cleaning procedures include:

  • Natural disinfectant spray is used to wipe-down of all hard surfaces at least twice a day including door knobs and table tops etc.
  • Natural disinfectant spray / wipe-down of treatment table surfaces before and after each patient
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer available for patients to use liberally
  • My hand washing is frequent and thorough and now I’ve added the hand sanitizer in between hand washes as needed – based on surfaces touched (phone/computer/doorknobs etc.)
  • Treatment room air is filtered and windows stay open throughout the day when possible.

I post my own body temperature readings each day in the waiting room so you can see it when you arrive.  Should anything change about my own health, I will let you know without delay.

The comfort and safety of everyone is very important to me. Please email if you have any questions that aren’t addressed here.
